Atlanta, GA Area Overview

Atlanta Georgia area has an exceptionally large technology and business sector spread over several suburbs. People of Atlanta are normally extremely nice and extremely helpful especially if you are new to the area. Atlanta is a large metropolis so at times you may feel entrapped at times but there are plenty of places nearby to go and relax on weekends or days off.

Georgia is known has the ‘Peach State’.

Current Georgia Governor is Brian Kemp who is a pro-business politician and therefore has Georgia in a great economic shape with plenty of IT opportunities.

Georgia does have a state income tax but nowhere near the extent of states like California and New York rates. which makes it an even more desired location. Georgia’s State Sales Tax varies from county to county and runs anywhere from 4 percent to as high as 9 percent in the Atlanta area. Most companies in Georgia will compensate at the National Market Rate for salary and hourly which makes Georgia even more enticing to take a position if offered.

Georgia’s main business climate is in the Atlanta metro area which is plentiful in IT opportunities. The drawback on the Atlanta metro area is that it is very congested.
