Seattle, WA Area Overview
As Seattle is home to Microsoft and Amazon there are plenty of IT opportunities in the Northwest Washington so this would be a location where you would be able to stay and find other opportunities if you are going there as an IT contractor and the contract completes.
There are several activities to keep you busy while you are there. There are major league teams in Major League Baseball with the Mariners and National Football League with the Seahawks.
Currently, the Seattle City Council has decided to disband the police department. What this means for the future is there will be no public security and experts expect crime to increase by at least 3 times what it presently is.
With the high potential for increased crime, Fossnel no longer recommends Seattle as your destination unless you planning to set up your community inside the city.
About Washington
What we know about the state of Washington is that there are 2 different types of people’s opinions which are very split from each other. Those in Eastern Washington and those in Western Washington. Those in Eastern Washington are more rural oriented and those in the east have a big city mentality and like other states with similar characteristics the big city Seattle area dominates the legislative culture.
The Seattle, Washington area is home to several fortune 500 companies and with Microsoft located in the state there are several software entities with several opportunities for IT Professionals.
Despite leanings towards a Socialist Policies, Washington does not have a State Personal Income Tax.
Unless you planning to take over an area and set up your country and start your own government, Fossnel does not recommend relocating to Washington.
