Riverboat gambling is legal in Iowa and there are several Casinos on the Missouri River along the Nebraska border and the Mississippi River along the Illinois border. Other locations throughout the state have casinos on the water.

Iowa has 3 main economic hubs, the Des Moines area, Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf) and Council Bluffs.
